NATIONAL MISSIONS
Youth Mission Trips
Each Summer, the Pleasant Union Youth embark on a one-week mission trip to serve God and people in need. For several years, our trips have been to help with hurricane relief in various parts of the country, but most recently we went to work among the people of the Oglala Lakota Sioux nation in Pine Ridge, South Dakota. Together, we got our hands dirty building, repairing and maintaining homes, churches, and facilities while we learned from the Oglala Lakota people of their history and traditions, and shared the grace of love of Jesus Christ in our words and actions. It was a eye opening and life changing experience for everyone who participated, whether youth or adult. This year, the youth plan to help with tornado recovery efforts in Tennessee. To pay for these trips, the youth hold various fund raisers throughout the year to pay for this trip, and are grateful for the generous support of their church family.
